Sports Metric of the Week: Defense at a Premium in 2016 NBA All-Star Game

The NBA All-Star game is known for highlight reel dunks and a plethora of three-point makes by the league’s best players.

While the exhibition almost always lacks enthusiasm on the defensive side of the floor, this year’s display of defense was particularly absent.

The West All-Star’s 196 points bested the previous team-high record by 33 points, and total points scored in the game exceeded the previous mark by 48 points.
